Position DescriptionFull-Time and Part-Time Speech-Language Pathologist:About Boomerang HealthBoomerang Health, powered by SickKids, is a multidisciplinary paediatric clinic, independent but wholly owned by The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). SickKids opened Boomerang Health in April 2013, a 10,000 sq. ft. healthcare centre in Vaughan, to provide the York Region community and beyond, with greater access to community-based services for children and adolescents. As people and healthcare professionals, we stand together against racism and oppression which have a huge impact on the health of the many communities we serve.Job SummaryHiring for both part-time/full-time positionsProvides comprehensive speech and language assessments and intervention to children with a variety of communication needsFollows evidence-based approaches to assessment and treatmentManages a varied caseload and meets required timelinesMaintains complete and accurate medical records using Electronic Medical Record systemCommunicates effectively and maintains relationships with referring physicians, healthcare providers and other relevant community stakeholdersProvides education and feedback to familiesOther duties as requiredQualificationsMaster's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, with experience in paediatric assessment/treatmentRegistered with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of OntarioExperience/SkillsNew graduates are welcome to applyCASLPO mentorship provided, as neededStrong proficiency in assessment and evidence-based speech language therapy interventions with childrenExperience with virtual platforms is an assetProven ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary teamRequires excellent oral and written communication skills in EnglishUtilizes critical thinking and problem solving skillsEfficient time management and organizational skills requiredThe children and families we care for are from a variety of communities, and so are our employees.
