About the Summer 2024 Position 

The Youth Ministry Summer Program Coordinator will be a key member of the Youth summer team, helping to create an organized, Christ-focused, values-based summer program for students in grades 6-12. There will be some flexibility on the hour requirements, including start/end dates, time off, and number of hours per week. Office hours will typically be Monday – Friday plus some evening and weekend events. Assuming we receive government funding for these positions, a pre-determined number of consecutive work weeks will be required. The anticipated dates for this position are April 29* - August 2*, 2024. Reports to the Youth Pastor.
 

Summer Responsibilities

Be part of weekly youth department meetings for planning and organizational purposes 

Help to plan and run a dynamic and consistent summer program for HSY and MSY along with the other Youth staff 

Be involved with preparations for Youth for the 2024/2025 ministry year 

Be involved in any summer retreats and/or day trips (including a Grad Retreat and a High School Mission Trip). (further specifics are TBD)

Be involved in strategizing and implementing the online component of our youth program

Be involved in sourcing, crafting and implementing curriculum

Be involved in the spiritual content of the summer, including possible teaching or speaking
 

Involvement in Camp

MOVE Camp - June will focus on preparations for Youth’s involvement in camp week in early July 

With the Children’s Ministry team, work on youth volunteer recruitment and training 

Working with the youth staff to ensure the youth department’s involvement in camp week is effective, organized, and a positive experience for both youth volunteers and the campers.

Qualifications 

Love for students, youth ministry and Jesus

Good interpersonal and communication skills, in person, by phone, in writing and online

Good organization and problem-solving skills with attention to detail 

Ability to discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision 

Musical ability, IT experience and fluency in social media are all skills that although are not required, are considered strong assets
