We are looking for a Financial Operations Specialist who will be part of Toptal’s fast-paced environment, setting high standards and working daily to push the limits of our service standards. We need someone who can naturally prioritize tasks, manage their time effectively, and ensure efficiency and quality in every step of the process. Communication clarity and professionalism are essential, as is the ability to explain payment transaction details to clients to maintain strong relationships. Your attention to detail and commitment to high service standards will help resolve discrepancies appropriately and ensure payments are processed efficiently. This is a remote position. Responsibilities Continuously remain professional in communication, whether working with internal teams or clients. Show strong organizational skills by seeing tasks through from start to finish with efficiency and quality. Use internal tools and payment applications to complete daily tasks and continuously look for ways to better leverage resources and creatively resolve issues. Assist with financial reconciliations, document control, and other basic accounting and clerical functions to support the overall business. Drive continuous improvement of financial operational processes to enhance scalability and efficiency, ensuring solutions are designed with both internal and external clients at the center. Provide exceptional service and uphold the Toptal reputation, so teams, clients, and partners can rely on you. Qualifications and Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree is required. 3+ years of prior experience in finance or accounting roles such as accounts receivable, reconciliation, payment processing, purchase orders, etc. Experience with accounting systems, including QuickBooks. Strong analytical skills, proficient in Google Sheets/Excel to analyze data, identify trends, and make recommendations. Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail. Demonstrated experience delivering elite customer service and maintaining a positive can‑do attitude. Effective time management and focus when working toward deadlines. Ability to create, improve, and manage process documentation for efficiency and alignment. Passion for working with technology organizations preferred. Experience working 100% remotely preferred. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Capability to thrive in a fast‑paced, rapidly growing company with diverse challenges, deadlines, and contacts. Must be a world‑class individual contributor; not a delegator. Essential Job Functions Regularly attend scheduled virtual team meetings on camera. Work independently with minimal supervision.
