About the Role: Reporting directly to the Director, Finance, this position is responsible for assisting with the full cycle accounting process for OEG Real Estate, Katz Group Real Estate and subsidiary companies. Your Focus in this Role: Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly & annual financial statements for multiple properties Prepare and analyze property-level financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets and cash-flow analysis Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, intercompany transactions, and general ledgers Prepares and files GST returns and supporting working papers Verifies invoices and verifies compliance with financial policies and procedures Prepares and posts journal entries Provides input to the annual budget processes, as needed Supports property & asset management teams Review 3rd party property management statements for accuracy and completeness Review CAM reconciliation, lease accounting and residential accounting Other administrative accounting tasks Who You Are: You’re a positive person with a customer‑centric focus You’re a self‑starter that is excited by autonomy and has a relentless drive to exceed expectations You’re open‑minded and don’t mind adjusting on the fly You believe in a team‑first mentality and you thrive in a collaborative, egoless environment You’re organized, have a keen eye for detail, and incredible time management skills You have a talent for building great working relationships at all levels within an organization You have xcellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently, and complete tasks on a timely basis, while ensuring accuracy and completeness You are self‑motivated with strong attention to detail Education, Experience and Skills: Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Accounting is required Minimum five (5) years in an accounting background or related field is required CA/CPA Designation will be considered an asset Proficiency with accounting and property management software (Yardi) Experience with other computerized accounting software (i.e. Great Plains, MR, etc.) and strong skills in Microsoft Excel Experience in real estate, property management or construction accounting required Effective communication skills and the ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with staff and 3rd‑party managers Understanding of concepts and underlying details, ability to identify errors, and foresight to strategize and make decisions with consideration to both operational and financial implications What’s in it for you? 100% Employer Paid Benefits + RSP Matching Program Oilers, Oil Kings, and Live Entertainment Ticket Options Healthcare and Lifestyle Spending Account Options On‑Site Parking and Transit Allowance On‑Site Gym Beautiful Office Space located Downtown Edmonton within Rogers Place - with easy access to the LRT Social Work Culture + Employee Events Thank you for your interest in joining our team Those moving forward in the process will be contacted by a member of our team.
