The Train Revenue Analyst is responsible for the development of inventory management strategies and action plans aimed at maximising revenue based on budget forecasts, demand patterns and capacity, on a given number of long-haul trains and different markets. Also, the resource is responsible for the confirmation of group requests and the support of RM reports. Responsibilities Develop inventory management strategies, goals and action plans; responsible for passenger revenue performance for assigned long haul trains and markets based on budget forecasts, capacity and demand. Optimise seat allocations at train level to maximise revenues using VIA’s revenue management forecasting tool. Analyse data to forecast passenger demand by train / booking class. Proactively signal revenue risks to related commercial departments (Product, Sales and Network Planning). Ensure market strategies and challenges are properly communicated and all groups aligned. Acquire competitive data from Sales group, make capacity recommendations to Network Planning group, notify Product and Advertising groups regarding sales initiatives. Monitor RM KPI (ABRs, segment and OD reports, RASM, etc). Analyse competition and trains on a daily basis with a focus on critical trains. Manage group and overbooking strategy. Measure performance results, adjust strategies to maximise revenues. Support the creation, maintenance and distribution of Revenue Management and Commercial reports. Confirm groups in queue based on the allocation strategies of other Train Revenue Analysts. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in management science, economics, statistics, or a related field. At least three years of experience in revenue management and performance optimisation. 3-5 years of work experience related to revenue management systems, use of statistics, and data mining. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of analysis tools and software. Bilingualism in written and spoken form. Experience with S3P is a major asset. Analytical skills. Ability to use technology to solve problems. Creativity and resourcefulness. Ability to build useful working relationships. Excellent customer service skills.
