Purpose The Technical Lead, Salesforce reports to the Director, Software Engineering. Our company, a leader in providing compelling and unique rail journeys, is looking to innovate within the rail tourism industry by delivering cutting‑edge solutions that transform our guest and partner experience. We’re building modern, cloud‑native solutions on Azure to power our guest and partner experiences, and as we scale our engineering capabilities, we need a Technical Lead who can bridge enterprise cloud architecture with Salesforce integration patterns. This role requires deep experience collaborating with solution architects, platform engineers, and product teams to design cohesive, scalable systems. We’re seeking a highly innovative and collaborative Salesforce Technical Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will be well‑versed in designing, developing, and deploying robust Salesforce solutions as part of a broader cloud ecosystem, not a standalone platform, tailored to complex business requirements, and will be comfortable in a fast‑paced environment. In this role, you will lead a team of Salesforce Developers and Administrators while directly contributing to their success by fostering exceptional engineering and delivery practices that enable the rapid, reliable delivery of high‑quality solutions. You will cultivate an environment where the team can perform at its best—predictably, sustainably, and with a focus on operational resilience. By ensuring that teams have clear information, strong feedback loops, and the right tools to deliver valuable and customer‑centric outcomes, you will empower engineers to grow both technically and professionally. Key Areas of Accountability Technical Leadership 5+ years leading technical teams in cloud‑native environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP) Proven experience working alongside solution architects and platform engineering teams in a multi‑product organization. Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, API gateway design, event‑driven architecture, and microservices Experience designing and implementing Salesforce as part of a broader cloud ecosystem, not as a standalone platform Demonstrated ability to make architectural trade‑off decisions and defend them to senior technical stakeholders Partner with solution architects and platform teams to define integration patterns between Salesforce and our Azure‑based cloud platform Design and develop API integrations with other systems and applications As a people leader, develop and grow a high performing team through coaching, mentoring and setting a clear direction by connecting the work they do, enhancing team capabilities and fostering knowledge sharing. Collaborate cross‑functionally with product management, UX/UI designers, QA teams, and other software developers to deliver cohesive system improvements. Ensure adherence to Salesforce best practices and robust security protocols. Support work item estimation, clearly detailing effort, skills required, and strategic implementation approaches. Innovation Design integration solutions that leverage both Azure cloud services and Salesforce capabilities, selecting the right tool for each use case Architect event‑driven patterns and real‑time data synchronization between Salesforce and our Azure data platform Evaluate and implement integration technologies (API Management, iPaaS solutions, message queues) that fit our enterprise architecture Champion cloud‑native principles and guide the team away from Salesforce‑only thinking Nice to have: Design and implement advanced, scalable Salesforce solutions utilizing technologies such as SFDX, Lightning Web Components, Aura Components, Apex, Flows, Visualforce and Agentforce. Nice to have: Actively participate in software development, crafting scalable integrations using GraphQL, REST, & SOAP APIs, OAuth2, and other applicable standards. Lead opportunities to design AI‑driven/AI‑supported Salesforce solutions, Contribute to internal strategic initiatives and drive continuous innovation in Salesforce solutions. Collaboration In partnership with Product Management, lead technology ideation to value realization by ensuring the delivery of timely insights, prototypes, tests, and solutions Engage closely with diverse teams and stakeholders to understand and fulfill complex business requirements. Manage technical tasks and cross‑functional deliverables effectively within tight deadlines. Prepare detailed documentation, including architecture diagrams, data models, process flows, mock‑ups, and presentations, to communicate clearly across teams. Data Evaluate, optimize, and improve Salesforce object structures to reduce complexity and enhance system performance. Develop and implement strategies to identify, merge, and prevent duplicate records, ensuring high data quality. Optimize archiving solutions and implement robust data retention policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Design and recommend best practice workflows for data governance, cleansing, and ongoing data hygiene. Optimization Identifies and implements AI opportunities across the product lifecycle, building systems with intelligent capabilities baked in from the start. Prioritizes eliminating manual work through automated testing, deployment pipelines, self‑healing systems, and intelligent monitoring, creating infrastructure that scales efficiently with minimal human intervention. Balances cutting‑edge capabilities with business value, knowing when to build custom AI solutions versus leveraging existing platforms while ensuring systems remain explainable, trustworthy, and enhance rather than replace human judgment. Qualifications Education/Certifications/Knowledge Post‑Secondary level education equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field Salesforce Architect certifications preferred Experience 7+ years of Salesforce technical experience, including integration with external systems (e.g. NetSuite, Coupa, Docusign), and cloud platforms such as Azure. Extensive experience with Apex, Lightning (Aura and Web) Components, Flows, and Visualforce. Prior experience leading small teams (2 – 5 direct reports) Prior experience owning technical decisions for a product/workstream/pod Proficient in the product operating model, agile methodologies, and product development lifecycle Proficiency in CI/CD practices and familiarity with PaaS/IaaS platforms (Prodly, Azure). Azure Solution Architect certifications Skills Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and drive results Work Environment Must be legally entitled to work in Canada Corporate Office – Vancouver based; hybrid role with a minimum 3 days / week in the office. Compensation The base salary offered for this role is $125,000 to $140,000 per annum and can vary based on job‑related expertise, qualifications, experience and internal equity.
