Current Rate of Pay Min $55.66- Max $69.59 Current Shifts Primarily Days Position Summary: The Manager is responsible for facilitating day to day patient care related activities within the Intensive Care, Step Down & Inpatient Respiratory Therapy programs at GGH. They provide daily direction to unit personnel to provide high quality, safe, evidence-based care in partnership with the patients and families, and in keeping with the vision, mission and values of GGH. In collaboration with the Director, they implement initiatives that align with departmental and strategic goals and objectives of the organization. The Manager, in collaboration with the Director, ensures they provide an environment that supports and advances professional practice, and leads clinical staff in implementing evidence-based practices that are sensitive to limited resources within a patient-centered care philosophy. From our expansive trails and waterways to internationally recognized arts and cultural events, to diverse restaurants and craft breweries, the Royal City has something for everyone It’s one of Ontario's most robust and growing economies You will have access to excellent schools which include a university and college There are multiple centres of faith reflected in the community Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities: Registered Healthcare Professional (preferably Nursing) Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare field, Master’s degree in a health-related field preferred Demonstrate leadership skills and responsibilities, with 2 years’ formal management experience Minimum of 5 years of acute care clinical experience. Membership in relevant professional organization(s). Experience with guiding staff, experiencing performance and/or attendance problems. Experience with Lean process improvement methodologies. Demonstrate leadership with respect to enhancing patient and staff safety. Demonstrate leadership to support patient experience and patient satisfaction. Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal communication, coaching, mentoring and team building skills. Demonstrated ability to facilitate positive interactions among all members of the health care team. Proven analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Strong change management skills and demonstrated success in facilitating department level change initiatives. Demonstrated ability to make sound and effective decisions. Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development. Ability to analyze research and implement evidence-based practice into Policy and Procedure development and clinical practice. Demonstrated knowledge of program planning, implementation and evaluation. Demonstrated skills in building collaborative relationships. Demonstrated ability to execute strategies to maintain a balanced financial position. Demonstrates knowledge in clinical practice in the care of patients.
