Base Pay Range CA$150,000.00/yr - CA$175,000.00/yr Overview Our client, a growing and well-established group benefits consulting firm, is seeking a Director of Group Benefits Sales to lead business development and revenue growth across the Ottawa and Eastern Ontario market. This senior, client-facing role is responsible for building new employer relationships, expanding market presence, and driving profitable growth.This opportunity is ideal for a sales leader with a strong network in the group insurance and benefits consulting market who thrives in a relationship-driven, consultative selling environment. The Opportunity The Director of Group Benefits Sales will be responsible for developing and executing a regional growth strategy, targeting mid-market and large employers with tailored group benefits solutions. The role partners closely with consulting, service, and underwriting teams to deliver high-quality client outcomes while achieving aggressive growth targets. Key Responsibilities Lead new business development across group benefits, wellness, and retirement solutions Build and maintain a strong pipeline of employer prospects in the Ottawa region Develop relationships with CFOs, HR leaders, and executive decision-makers Conduct client meetings, needs assessments, and solution presentations Lead RFPs, carrier negotiations, and finalist presentations Collaborate with account management and service teams to ensure smooth onboarding Maintain accurate sales pipeline and forecasting Represent the firm at industry events and in the local business community Qualifications 10+ years of experience in group benefits sales, consulting, or brokerage Proven track record of winning and growing employer-sponsored benefit plans Strong understanding of group health, dental, life, disability, and wellness products Existing network of employer and carrier relationships in the Ottawa market Excellent consultative selling, negotiation, and presentation skills GBA, CEBS, or similar designation is an asset Why Consider This Opportunity Senior leadership role with significant autonomy and market ownership Opportunity to build and lead growth in a key regional market Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission and incentives Strong support from service, underwriting, and consulting teams Long-term career growth within a national benefits consulting platform How to Apply This role is being recruited by an external recruitment firm on behalf of the employer.
