Position Summary:The Director of People and Culture is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing all human resources functions at CMHA HPE, including talent acquisition, employee and labour relations, performance management, learning and development, compensation and benefits, health and safety, and inclusion, diversity, equity, and anti-racism (IDEA). This role will drive innovative HR strategies that enhance organizational performance, employee engagement, and compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.As a trusted advisor, the Director will provide expertise in policy development, workforce planning, and training; equipping managers and staff with the tools to build inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing teams. With a focus on leveraging technology and data-driven insights, the Director will lead the design and implementation of HR programs and practices that strengthen recruitment, retention, and succession planning while promoting exceptional employee experiences. This includes leveraging HRIS systems, workforce analytics, and data-driven decision-making to optimize HR strategies and organizational performance. Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline (required).Professional designation such as Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) (required).Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably within a non-profit, healthcare, or social services environment.Minimum of 5 years of formal or informal leadership experience, including supervising HR professionals, leading program development, and overseeing day-to-day operations.Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with organizational goals.Strong knowledge of employment legislation, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.Proven leadership expertise in inclusion, diversity, equity, anti-racism (IDEA), and fostering organizational culture transformation.Experience with HR technology implementation, HRIS optimization, or workforce analytics is an asset.Knowledge of human resources-related legislation (e.g., Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act).Knowledge of change management, employee engagement, and employee relations principles and practices.Proven track record in strategic planning, budget management, and performance measurement.Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate project objectives, inspire, influence, negotiate, and motivate teams.Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism, consistency, and excellent problem-solving abilities.Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and project management tools (MS Project, MS Visio, SharePoint).Must possess a valid Ontario Driver License, regular access to a reliable vehicle, and proof of adequate vehicle insurance for travel between agency sites and community meetings.Satisfactory criminal record check required prior to hire.
