Senior Manager, Digital Marketing Technology

What is the opportunity? Reporting to the Director, Marketing Technology, the candidate will act as both a business and technical leader for Wealth Management’s marketing capabilities and solutions across email and automated communication channels. Operating in the capacity of an in‑house subject matter expert for digital messaging solutions, this role is accountable for demonstrating an overall enterprise responsibility to RBC Wealth Management’s Marketing Technology stack. Associated responsibilities include managing the successful development, implementation, integration, governance, and growth of this stack while simultaneously ensuring consistent alignment to policies, legislation, industry standards, and best practices. The Senior Manager, Digital Marketing Technology is also expected to act as a trusted business partner to both internal teams and stakeholders and external vendor partners. Additional responsibilities include resource management; vendor management; cost management; articulating MarTech capabilities through presentations and roadshows; onboarding new lines of business to existing infrastructure; strategically defining scalable technical architecture; and ensuring the effective management and governance of technical solutions and environments. The Senior Manager consistently displays thought‑leadership and technical prowess by demonstrating the ability to manage cross‑functional teams and deliver on broad strategic concepts through guiding diverse projects from inception to completion. What will you do? Consult with lines‑of‑business and key stakeholders within the Wealth vertical to enable Digital Marketing campaigns, partnering with internal business/technical teams and third‑party vendors to analyze business/technical/system needs and ultimately recommend high‑quality and scalable MarTech solutions that meet business requirements, drive revenue, and cost savings. Establish, refine, and deliver strategic roadmaps to ensure all MarTech platforms and products remain current and continue to support the needs of stakeholders in terms of scalability, resilience, security, capacity, and operational maintenance. Drive the design, development, and deployment of MarTech capabilities resulting in customized and integrated solutions/environments that deliver personalized and relevant digital communication. Hold enterprise accountability to ensure email marketing technology is compliant with CASL/CAN‑SPAM/GDPR through preference management for clients and prospects, while also delivering on overall data management practices per internal policies and legislation. Serve as subject‑matter expert (SME) and strategic lead for Salesforce Marketing Cloud and related Salesforce Clouds and integrations, including CRM. Develop reusable infrastructure and business rules that enable targeting of clients and advisors. Develop operational processes in Salesforce to ensure successful governance of technical testing/production environments, source code management, quality assurance processes, digital channel standards, and best practices. Be deeply involved with supported lines‑of‑business in their technical releases, ranging from deployments, enhancements, and fixes, ensuring sufficient testing for acceptance criteria in RBC’s production environments. What do you need to succeed? Must haves University degree in a business or computer science discipline (e.g., Business, Marketing, Computer/Data Science, Engineering). Experience delivering and/or facilitating executive‑level discussions on digital marketing technology work and strategies. Experience implementing initiatives to advance marketing technology capabilities, including roll‑out and change management of new technologies, data environments, data access and transformation tools. 5+ years specialty expertise in Marketing Technology, relationship marketing and email marketing. 5+ years in application architecture and internet technology. Superior interpersonal skills – able to work effectively with a diverse cross‑section of individuals across business, functional and organizational boundaries in a complex and diverse organization. Nice‑to‑have Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications (e.g., Email Specialist, Developer, Consultant and/or Administrator). Familiarity with web programming (e.g., HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript). Familiarity with other Salesforce Clouds such as Service Cloud, Commerce Cloud, etc. What’s in it for you?
