Role and Facility Information

Location: White Rock/South Surrey, British Columbia
Hospital: Peace Arch Hospital is a community hospital in the Fraser Health Authority (FHA) region, with 169 acute care beds and an ICU/CCU of 8 beds. The hospital has a closed unit for Internal Medicine and a Level 3 PFT lab. There are no formal on-call responsibilities, but respiratory consultation is provided for both inpatients and outpatients. Bronchoscopy services are available, but EBUS is not offered at this site. Thoracic surgery is conducted at Surrey Memorial Hospital, which has 5 busy thoracic surgeons. Adjacent to Surrey Memorial Hospital is the BC Cancer Agency site, Fraser Valley Cancer Centre. Clinical work and PFTs are compensated on a fee-for-service basis. There is also the opportunity for sessional TB clinic work at the New Westminster TB clinic, under the Division of TB Control, BCCDC. Affiliations include the Division of Respiratory Medicine, FHA. Applicants can apply for a clinical position with the UBC Department of Medicine.

Office space will be available at a reasonable rent in a well-maintained mixed complex. Free parking is provided for staff and patients, with less than a 10-minute drive from door to door to the hospital.
