Join us and redefine your personal best.Your OpportunityAre you ready to join our Instrumentation and Controls team?Your Key ResponsibilitiesA successful applicant will work with a multidisciplinary group of engineers and designers providing technical services to public and private-sector clients. Primary duties will include control systems engineering, process control strategy planning, automation design, construction support services, and planning studies with detailed analyses. These designs will relate to water and wastewater treatment plants and related facilities. Experience with equipment selections, equipment and communication network layouts, and process control design coordination with other engineering disciplines is required. Candidates should be at ease with core aspects of PLC, HMI and SCADA system planning, design, programming, and upgrades.The successful applicant is expected to be proficient in the following areas.Design Activities, including developing preliminary scope definitions, budgets, and staffing plansField review and evaluation of existing equipment, control systems (hardware and software) and control panelsPreparing studies, conceptual reports, and technical memorandumsConducting I&C engineering and analyses related to water, wastewater, and industrial waste treatment facilitiesSupporting multi-disciplinary teams with engineering design projects and studiesDeveloping construction documents (drawings, specifications, and schedules), including: P&ID drawings, network architecture diagrams, control panel details, CCTV and Access Control System drawings, wiring diagrams, and instrument installation detailsDevelopment of technical specifications, instrument datasheets, and detailed control strategies/narrativesSenior review and evaluation of electrical schematic diagrams and plansReview and evaluation of mechanical specifications with controls contentCoordination of I&C deliverables with process, mechanical, and electrical disciplinesConstruction Support ActivitiesReview of Contractor and Supplier submittalsParticipate in construction site inspectionsSupport equipment and control system commissioning, start-up, and performance testingAssist with system troubleshootingMarketing Support Activities Would Be Considered An AssetAssisting marketing team with project pursuit strategiesPresentation material developmentPresentation participationServing as I&C discipline subject matter expertWork safely by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.Your Capabilities and CredentialsSolid interpersonal skills for working in a team environment (virtual or in-person)Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to convey project I&C needs to project managers and clients, translating them into comprehensive plans and specificationsAbility to mentor junior to intermediate staff and work with remotely located project team membersAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyEducation and ExperienceBachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering; 15 years of experience in instrumentation and controlsProfessional Engineering registration (P.Eng.) or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire dateThis description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities and may be updated or changed at any time.Company Highlights and BenefitsStantec’s sustainability recognitions and awards for climate leadership and employer excellencePay ranges available by location; final compensation based on education, experience, and work locationBenefits for regular full-time and part-time employees and certain benefits for temporary/casual employeesPrimary Location: Canada | AB | CalgaryOrganization: BC-1269 Water-CA DeliveryEmployee Status: RegularTravel: NoSchedule: Full timeJob Posting: 17/06/2025 08:06:57Req ID: REQ250001MV #J-18808-Ljbffr
