Reporting to the Vice President – Technology, head of application development.What you will do:Informally lead a team of engineers in building scalable solutions to serve business needs.Build cloud native applications using approved frameworks in Python and Java. Adhere to firm’s development practices.Research emerging technologies and stay abreast of technology trends in the industry.Create POCs and get business buy in. Help the firm build value for its shareholders/investors.Deploy technology solutions to facilitate straight through processing; resulting in lower operation costs.Contribute to the firm’s strategic technology roadmap by representing the alignment of technology to the strategic needs of the firm’s portfolioOversee the status of projects in process; manage team resources and assignments, ensure delivery meets schedule and quality standardsReview new and existing program/project architecture for compliance with IT standards, policies and architectural plans.Establish strong working relationships across business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners. Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are meeting both our architecture and business outcomes.What you bring:Education - University Degree, BSc degree in Computer Science or related discipline.Minimum of 10 years of experience implementing complex, integrated solutionsExperience in leading initiatives through the full software development process – from conception to completion – with demonstrable ability to assume a leadership role in coordinating activities, scheduling, and project controlStrong understanding of current development processes, standards, and tooling is required.
