Together, we help people, businesses, and society prosper in good times and be resilient in bad times.About The RoleWe're looking for a Claims Manager - National Large Loss Property to join our growing team As a Claims Manager, your claims experience and strive for excellence will help you successfully manage the day to day operations of our National Property Large Loss team.This position is a full-time permanent position that can be based in any of our Quebec or GTA offices.What You'll Do HereManage the day to day operation of the Property Large Loss team to ensure results produced meet team, department, corporate, Provincial and regulatory standards and goals; provide regular feedback to leadership on results.Achieve essential business goals and meet customer service expectations.Provide technical oversight and guidance with a focus on indemnity and expense control, as well as, optimal customer experience.Act as claims authority within areas of expertise and provide direction on such issues as policy interpretation, quantum analysis, reserving and technical issues. Settle large or complex claims within authority or escalates issues as necessary.Continually assess and improve workflows to ensure efficiency. This includes responding to and partnering with internal and external contacts regarding issues affecting them and to ensure collaborative relationships with all stakeholders.Work closely with the Director and Claims Managers to develop strategies and long term and short term plans to facilitate ongoing work, process improvement, customer relations and other functions.Monitor financial performance and productivity and report observations, progress and recommendations to key stakeholders.Lead and actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and ensure utilization of tools and behaviours to foster critical thinking and innovation around problem solving.Provide effective leadership, responsible for hiring and terminations, coaching and mentoring, performance management, continuous learning and career development for direct reports.Lead property large loss training strategy.Completion of monthly file reviews and audits, identify opportunities and develop action plans.What You Bring To The TableA minimum of 10 years of management, coaching and mentoring experience in commercial property claims.Extensive experience handling large and complex property losses, including builders risk, business interruption and time element claims in all Canadian jurisdictions.Technical expertise in coverage analysis, building construction and quantum evaluation.Exceptional organisation and time management skills.Strong negotiation, project management and problem solving skills.Knowledge of reinsurance an asset.Ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement and drive positive change.Demonstrated ability to lead by example though Intact’s Leadership Success Factors.Excellent customer, communication and interpersonal skills – you can relate to anyoneBilingual in French and English “Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country”.AMF license required.What We OfferOur hybrid work model provides the balance between working from home and enjoying meaningful in-person interactions.A financial rewards program that recognizes your successAn industry leading Employee Share Purchase Plan; we match 50% of net shares purchasedAn extensive flex pension and benefits package, with access to virtual healthcareFlexible work arrangementsPossibility to purchase up to 5 extra days off per yearAn annual wellness account that promotes an active and healthy lifestyleAccess to tools and resources to support physical and mental health, embracing change and connecting with colleaguesA dynamic workplace learning ecosystem complete with learning journeys, interactive online content, and inspiring programsInclusive employee-led networks to educate, inspire, amplify voices, build relationships and provide development opportunitiesInspiring leaders and colleagues who will lift you up and help you growA Community Impact program, because what you care about is a part of what makes you different.
