Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Claims Examiner to join our team. This is an in-office position based in our Saint John office, where you will work as part of a collaborative team of Claims Examiners. In this role, you will be responsible for handling personal and commercial property and casualty claims across the Atlantic provinces, ensuring timely, fair, and customer-focused claims service.
Responsibilities
In this position you will:
- Analyze and assess coverage of Personal and Commercial Property and Casualty Claims
- Reviewing and analyzing reports from various service providers including adjusters/experts/lawyers
- Reporting to and making recommendations to various Underwriters on complex claims (Domestic and Lloyds of London Underwriters)
- Ensuring that company claims protocols and guidelines are adhered to throughout the claims handling process including setting and maintaining loss and expense reserves
- Liaise with Underwriters, Brokers and other stakeholders in a professional and efficient manner
Qualifications and Characteristics
You're a good fit if you have:
- 5+ years of Property and Casualty Claims Adjusting/Claims Handling experience
- Chartered Insurance Professional designation
- Currently hold a Level 3 New Brunswick Adjuster's License
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong investigative and analytical skills including understanding all policy wordings
- Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Able to work well independently
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet various deadlines and keep organized
- While not required, French language skills are considered an asset.
Salary Range
The expected salary range for this position is from $62,000 – 74,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level.
