POSITION TITLE: Housing Development Coordinator POSITION TYPE: Supervisor REPORTS TO: Housing Director Primary Objective: Reporting to the Housing Director, the Housing Development Coordinator is responsible for developing and supervising Housing programming, personal development and recovery plans through the team of Lifeskill Coaches (Uturn, Housing First and Common Spaces) and volunteers that engage with youth facing homelessness and/or substance use disorder, and recovery in housing placement through a focus on stability, employment, and a biopsychosocial‑spiritual health philosophy and practice. The Housing Development Coordinator works closely with individuals/families in need of housing, funded agency housing teams, other community agencies, landlords, government representatives, and as well as members of the Westman Youth for Christ Housing teams. Responsibilities: LEADING MINISTRY PROGRAMS (40%) Implement the overall ministry. Engage in evangelism and discipleship. Provide guidance and discipline to program participants. Participate in planning and off‑site opportunities. Case manage four youth in programming. Work with Housing Director in ongoing program development. SUPERVISING STAFF (20%) Ensuring the provision of orientation, training, mentoring, spiritual guidance and prayer with and for all volunteers, youth interns, and staff workers participating in the ministry area. Facilitate Case Management Planning meetings. Ensure Housing First Fidelity requirements and targets are met ongoing and report to Housing Director. Meet with Life Skill Coaches to determine case plan strategies and implementation for caseloads. Providing support and guidance to staff based upon Christian values and teachings. Mentoring and encouraging others in personal Christian understanding, values, character and lifestyle. ADMINISTRATION (20%) Complete weekly/monthly/quarterly reports. Maintain and enforce professional standards in recording and sharing youth information Adhere to the WYFC Policy Manual. Abide by Health and Safety Requirements. Assist in the upkeep of WYFC Facilities. COMMUNITY RELATIONS (5%) Provide prayer support, nurture, and encouragement for volunteers. Represent WYFC positively to the community. Develop and nurture strong working relationships with other agencies and ministries. MEETINGS (5%) Meet with supervisor regularly Attend WYFC and ministry team meetings. PARTNER DEVELOPMENT (5%) Personal and ministry area partnership development – which includes securing and maintaining a sound base of financial & prayer partners to a level sufficient to fund the salary and immediate costs of this position, along with the ministry area. Gathering financial and prayer support from the Christian community Build a base of prayer partners and keep them updated through regular communications and prayer requests. Encourage prayer partners to pray for youth/ youth workers in Westman. SPIRITUAL AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT (5%) Is a faithful and contributing member of a local church. Pray for and with WYFC Team. Spend time in spiritual reflection and development. Attend YFC Regional and National conferences as per policy. Participate in training and development courses, conferences and workshops as approved by supervisor. SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS: Relevant post‑secondary degree and relevant experience in leading and managing a team and working with underserved populations Applicants must reflect on and sign the WYFC Statement of Faith and Community Covenant Precision, detail‑oriented, patience, creativity, flexibility, compassion, and sensitivity to all persons and able to exercise discretion, compassion, and empathy, and maintain confidentiality. Effective interpersonal and time‑management skills. A confident self‑starter, able to meet challenges, and to overcome obstacles. Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous populations, the impact of colonization on Canada’s Indigenous peoples, the historical and continuing impact of the residential school system, and traditional Indigenous healing and wellness beliefs, practices, and support agencies are an asset. An understanding of 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, mental heal disorders, trauma response, etc. is considered an asset. Knowledge of local mental health and addictions system and community services an asset.\>First Aid/CPR, ASIST, Mental Health First Aid, De‑escalating Potentially Violent Situation training are required for this position and considered assets upon application Must pass criminal record check, child abuse registry check and vulnerable sector check. #J-18808-Ljbffr
