Senior Underwriter – Construction Reporting to the Operational Underwriting team, you will collaborate closely with brokers, portfolio underwriters, and our analytics team to enhance our insurance offerings. Your primary responsibilities involve managing broker referrals and collaborating on diverse initiatives crucial to the overall success of this portfolio. You will directly influence the development and competitiveness of our insurance products through your insights on appetite and pricing, and mentor and guide fellow team members. Responsibilities Underwrite and manage a book focused on construction risks. Meet premium and bind ratio targets while maintaining a disciplined underwriting approach. Contribute to operational efficiency, ensuring streamlined processes and data-driven decision-making. Collaborate with leadership to shape growth and profitability strategy for the new program. Provide input on pricing strategy to ensure market competitiveness. Develop and strengthen relationships with Zensurance brokers, acting as a trusted partner in the marketplace. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications 5-7 years of commercial underwriting experience specializing in construction and/or P&H risks. Experience underwriting heat application roofing and commercial snow removal risks is an asset. CIP, CRM or FCIP is an asset. Experience working with an MGA or program-specific division of an Insurance Company. Track record of achieving premium and bind ratio targets. Ability to build relationships both with markets and brokers. Ability to utilize collaboration skills while taking ownership of projects. Benefits & Perks Remote-first setup for added flexibility.
