Senior Underwriter - Toronto
Our client is one of the worlds leading insurance underwriters. As a Senior Underwriter working out of the downtown Toronto office, you would manage a portfolio which would require you to develop/maintain relationships with brokers and senior executives from major publicly traded Canadian companies.
Key Responsibilities include
- Underwriting D&O portfolio and industry classes
- Relationship management and servicing of brokers
- Risk/financial assessment and development of underwriting solutions
- Growing the target business
- Occasional traveling to support broker relationships
Ideal Traits/Qualifications
- College/University education with emphasis on Business/Finance preferred
- Advanced skills in analyzing and interpreting financial statements
- 5+ years working experience in a professional environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven organizational, time management, presentation and negotiation skills
- Emphasis on being detail oriented
- Good problem solving ability
- Willingness to be flexible and take initiative
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines, as well as in a team oriented approach to accomplish goals
- Knowledge of systems and PC applications (Windows, Outlook, MSWord, Excel, and data processing systems)
- Billingualism (English/French) is an asset
