Technical Project Manager – Data Migration Job Title: Technical Project Manager – Data Migration Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite/Hybrid) Employment Type: Full-Time Experience Level: 15–18 Years Compensation: Open / Competitive About the Role We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with a strong background in data migration and warehouse-to-cloud transformation to lead enterprise-scale migration initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep technical understanding, strong leadership skills, and hands‑on experience managing complex data programs—preferably with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams, stakeholders, data architects, engineers, and business leaders to ensure seamless execution of cloud migration and modernization projects. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end data migration and data warehouse‑to‑cloud migration projects, with a focus on GCP‑based environments. Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, and resource plans for large‑scale data transformations. Partner with data engineering, architecture, and infrastructure teams to ensure technical alignment and successful execution. Oversee data discovery, mapping, validation, quality checks, and migration workflows. Develop and manage detailed project documentation, including roadmaps, project plans, risk logs, and communication plans. Proactively identify project risks and impediments and drive mitigation strategies. Communicate progress, challenges, and outcomes to leadership and business stakeholders in a clear and structured manner. Ensure governance, compliance, and security standards are followed throughout the migration lifecycle. Manage multiple vendors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure coordinated delivery. Required Qualifications 15–18 years of overall experience, with at least 7–10 years in technical project or program management. Proven track record managing large-scale data migration and cloud migration (warehouse-to-cloud) projects. Strong hands‑on experience with GCP (preferred) or other major cloud platforms (AWS/Azure). Strong understanding of data architectures, ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and cloud-native services. Experience working in enterprise environments with complex data ecosystems. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work in fast‑paced, cross‑functional, and highly collaborative environments.
