As Senior Accountant, you will work closely with the Financial Controller and Senior Director of Finance to play a critical role in supporting key financial operations, manage the financial records, and prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting.In this role, you will will focus on ensuring compliance with accounting standards, preparing and maintaining financial records, supporting payroll processes, overseeing accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P), facilitating month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, managing sales tax compliance, and assisting with audit preparations.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP and company policiesIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operationsSupport month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processesManage A/R and A/P processes, including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and expense trackingSupport payroll processing and reconciliationAssist in financial audits and compliance activitiesEnsure compliance with sales tax regulationsHelp implement new software and processes to improve efficiencyParticipate in educational opportunities related to your roleRequirementsWhat You Need to Get the Job Done3+ years of progressive accounting experience (bonus points for SaaS experience)CPA designationDesire to provide all stakeholders with a great experienceYou're productive, driven, organized, detail-orientedYou question the status quo to encourage improvementYou learn quickly & enjoy problem solvingYou enjoy working both independently and on a teamYou are a strong and efficient communicatorA great sense of humour never hurtsLove of dogs (you'll see them at the office)Experience with QBO, Maxio, Float, and Plooto is considered an assetBenefitsWhy Liferaft?We pride ourselves on our innovative spirit and determination to help solve new challenges developed by the complexities of open source data.
