OverviewSenior Health and Safety Specialist Officer – AECOMAECOM is seeking a Senior Health & Safety Specialist - Airport to join our team. This position is based on-site in Mississauga. We aim to build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world.ResponsibilitiesImplements the duties of the health and safety position they are appointed into, including onboarding & training, reporting, incident investigation, and coordinating Threat and Hazard Impact Risk Assessments (T/HIRA).Provides subject matter expertise, advice, and guidance on health and safety matters across the program.Works with the contractor to ensure the measures in the site-specific safety plan are effectively implemented.Undertakes periodic assessments/audits, identifies opportunities for improvement, and recommends corrective actions.Provides management level reporting and identifies key risks and issues for escalation to the appropriate decision makers.Coaches, mentors, and supports the career development of Airport client staff.QualificationsMinimum RequirementsBA/BS + 4 years or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationPreferred RequirementsTypically, a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in on-site health and safety roles (inspection, coordinator, onboarding and training, and/or reporting).Experience in construction environments; major infrastructure/aviation program experience is an asset.Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing effective health and safety management plans.Strong stakeholder management skills; comfortable working with the owner, consultants, and contractors.Diploma/certificate in health and safety or equivalent training experience.Additional InformationThis position requires on-site work five days a week.About AECOMAECOM is a global infrastructure leader delivering comprehensive benefits to meet diverse employee needs.
