The Global Fraud Authentications Technology team develops and manages innovative products designed to support the ever-changing threat landscape. We work in close partnership with our Fraud Authentications Business and key Technology Partners throughout Scotiabank to drive global technology delivery. We are key team members within Global Operations Technology to ensure business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  1. Facilitate collaborative solution discovery sessions using lightweight techniques such as Story Mapping.
  2. Decompose the solution into small increments of value (stories) that can be independently built and validated.
  3. Work closely with architects and engineers to ensure a flow of stories are specified, engineered and validated.
  4. Facilitate collaborative sessions with teams to detail acceptance criteria on stories using practices such as specification by example.
  5. Facilitate root cause analysis of defects with the team and ensure that they act as a catalyst for continuous improvement.
  6. Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to review and accept completed stories and features.
  7. Collaborate with team and business representatives to define value and guide priority.
  8. Collaborate with the delivery team to define the overall testing approach and perform acceptance testing to validate business requirements in rapid iterations.
  9. Perform exploratory testing and regression testing as necessary, using a risk-based approach.
  10. Design and develop the automation testing strategies.
  11. Extend story specifications to align with automation testing strategies while including real world data, edge cases etc.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  1. University/college degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
  2. 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  3. Ability to work independently and drive solutions with a small working team.
  4. Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving, Decision Making, Time management.
  5. Business process re-engineering.
  6. IT fluency.
  7. Team player.
  8. Comfortable working in an Agile environment.
  9. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  10. Experience in Banking/Financial industry is a nice-to-have.
