ABOUT THE ROLE: The Logistics Coordinator has the primary responsibility of facilitating and supporting transload activities by: Dispatching and coordinating container movements and bookings. Managing shipper/broker/freight forwarder relations as it relates to export/import operations. Inputting and analysing data into internal and external systems. The Logistics Coordinator also provides ongoing support to other members of the operations team when required. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Operational Oversee export cargo operations by coordinating movements, maintaining accurate inventory records, completing monthly audits, preparing outbound load plans, communicating with customers, processing data entries and daily updates, facilitating PHYTO inspections, and managing inbound and outbound documentation. Backup Colleagues: Support colleagues with dispatching by creating gate passes, tracking export and import containers, and coordinating with drayage partners to organize container movements. Stay on Top of Container Free Time: Track the last free day for all containers to avoid detention charges. Support the Yard: Assist with container yard moves and placements according to the daily operations plan. Keep the Team Informed: Plan inbound and outbound container activity and promptly communicate any discrepancies or issues to the operations team. Keep Customers in the Loop: Provide timely updates to customers regarding container status and operational concerns. Keep Records Clean and Accurate: Update and maintain internal operations documents and external reporting tools for customers. Own the Rail Billing Process: Complete rail billing for both import and export shipments. Deliver Critical Reports on Time: Complete and submit scheduled stakeholder reports promptly. Help Maximize Daily Efficiency: Assist the operations team in executing the daily container plan effectively. Administrative Pitch In on Data Entry: Support the operations team with additional data entry tasks as required. Handle Invoicing Reports: Generate and send invoicing reports to accounting departments. Help Improve Processes: Assist in implementing new SOPs and operational recommendations to increase efficiency. Be a Team Player: Perform other related duties and projects as assigned. WHAT YOU’LL BRING: We’re looking for someone with the right blend of knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in this role. Knowledge Experience in transportation, logistics, international trade, or a related field. Previous dispatching experience is preferred. Proficiency in English, both written and verbal. Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word. Skills Excellent communication, comprehension, and analytical skills. Strong organizational abilities with keen attention to detail. Demonstrated commitment to delivering outstanding customer service with professionalism. Positive, outgoing attitude with strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills. Abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team setting. Ability to follow directions, execute instructions accurately, and adapt to changing operational needs. Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to address issues, resolve challenges, and assess operational performance. Proficiency in data entry, retrieval, and basic data analysis. WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL / SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: This position is on‑site, requiring the ability to stand and/or sit for the duration of the workday. Occasional exposure to outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and operational noise. Frequent presence around operating heavy equipment in a busy terminal or yard environment. COMMUNICATION: Requires adaptability to rapidly changing operational plans, necessitating clear, proactive communication with internal stakeholders and external customers. Involves regular interaction with suppliers, vendors, regulatory agencies, and other third‑party personnel. This is a customer‑facing role requiring a high standard of professionalism, strong communication skills, and a customer‑centric approach to meet service expectations and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
