Sales Engineer - IBM Automation at Arrow Electronics Arrow is seeking a highly qualified Sales Engineer to support our client base in the Canada region. This role will lead efforts in partner enablement & recruitment and provide technical expertise in support of IBM solutions. You will assist in the IBM Automation (Observability, FinOps, IT Financial Management) sales cycle, including partner and customer discovery, analysis, design, demonstration, and refinement of technology solutions. The role has a technical emphasis on IBM and requires general knowledge across all IBM offerings with a focus on Automation and IT. Responsibilities Establish relationships with Arrow Supplier teams, partners and customers in support of joint Sales, Marketing and Services team objectives. Leverage knowledge of competitive solutions to consult with customers. Execute technical sales calls as lead or team member. Configure and document hardware, software, Cloud, service and education solutions to enable partner/customer needs and supplier objectives. Complete required presales documentation quickly, accurately and completely. Qualify sales opportunities based on customer technical requirements, competition and decision‑making processes. Support Sales, Marketing and Services leadership meetings as required. Present and market the design and value of proposed supplier technology solutions and business cases to partners, customers, prospects and Arrow management. Maintain detailed product, technology and industry knowledge. Knowledge of IBM Automation (Observability, FinOps, IT Financial Management) and cloud technologies such as Kubernetes. Experience designing, building and validating AI solutions for large‑scale workloads. Working knowledge of data workflows and foundation models. Qualifications 4‑year degree with 5 years of related experience (preferred). In‑depth knowledge and experience with IBM Automation offerings and principles; current industry certifications. Working knowledge of Watsonx.data, Watsonx.AI and Watsonx.governance. Certifications in cloud technologies (IBM Automation/Red Hat OpenShift preferred). Experience with OSX, Windows and Linux operating systems (RHEL preferred). Experience in virtualization & container technologies. Experience in scripting or programming languages. Strong presentation skills in front of groups. Clean and credible social media presence. Travel requirement: 30%–40%. Experience / Education Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a 4‑year degree; or 6 years and an advanced degree; or equivalent experience. Work Arrangement Fully remote.
