Role Overview Title: Shift Maintenance Technician – Industrial Millwright MechanicLocation: Royal Canin, Guelph, ONShift: 12-hour continental rotation (days & nights)Pay: $45–$50/hr + OT opportunitiesBonus: 5% annual target bonus (based on company performance)Sign-on Bonus: $3,000 ($1,500 at 3 months + $1,500 at 6 months)Tools: Provided by employer (no need to bring your own) About the Work You’ll be maintaining and troubleshooting automated pet food production and packaging equipment. The environment is clean, food-safe, and focused on reliability and continuous improvement. Key Tasks Performing preventive & predictive maintenance (PM/PDM) Troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues Using CMMS (eMaint) to record maintenance activities Supporting continuous improvement and root cause analysis (RCA) projects Occasional fabrication and welding (ARC, TIG, MIG) Supporting operators with basic troubleshooting and setup coaching Technical Requirements Valid 433A Industrial Millwright license (mandatory) At least 2 years’ experience in a high-speed automated environment (food, beverage, pharma, or packaging preferred) Strong mechanical troubleshooting background Basic electrical knowledge (sensors, limit switches, cables, photo eyes) Familiar with HACCP, GMP, and food safety requirements Comfortable using Microsoft Office & CMMS Soft Skills / Behaviours Safety-first mindset Problem solver who works efficiently under pressure Collaborative – works well with operators, peers, and supervisors Continuous learner – open to cross-training and skill growth Action-oriented – can prioritize multiple breakdowns effectively Benefits (Effective Day 1) Medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and dependents Paid Time Off: 160 hours (4 weeks) Life insurance & parental leave Annual merit pay increase Tools provided by Mars Stable, reputable employer with long‑term career opportunities Why This Role Stands Out Competitive pay and benefits Clean, organized, and modern facility Strong safety and team culture Opportunities for career growth (Mars promotes internally, often to lead/supervisor or reliability roles) Good work-life balance compared to traditional 5‑shift rotation models #J-18808-Ljbffr
