We are currently looking for a **Maintenance Technician II** from a manufacturing or industrial services environment to join our team in Guelph, Ontario.

The **Maintenance Technician II** is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, preventative maintenance and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, preventative, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes. You will work within a small team reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all plant pneumatics, hydraulics, and electric systems including program logic control (PLC) systems control machine network devices (Ethernet IP Network). The Maintenance Technician will diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures in all plant manufacturing equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, handling equipment, conveyors, and wash processing equipment.
- Responsible for hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all process equipment
- Performs minor unscheduled maintenance and repair on trucking equipment such as forklifts; diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust
- Analyze mechanic parts required for maintenance performance, use of equipment and material.
- The Maintenance Technician is responsible for accurate and timely documentation of performance and processes as required by local and regional leadership. The Maintenance Technician will schedule, execute, and properly document work orders and inventory within the corporate Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- The Maintenance Technician will complete additional scheduling, repair material documentation, and reporting as required. Active participation in machine process and design improvement forums is required.
- Provide coaching on the use and repair of industrial production equipment.
- The Maintenance Technician will participate in health and safety programs including council or committee meetings, Legislative and corporate mandated training, certification, and recertification.
- Basic use of welding/cutting equipment.

**Competencies**
- Technically and mechanically inclined
- Manufacturing experience; mechanical, electric, electronic, hydraulic solid, pneumatic, industrial skills with PLC programming for Automation
- Strong manufacturing knowledge
- Effective interpersonal, strong communication
- Experience in the food industry, or other related manufacturing experience.
- Must be capable of working in a high-speed environment utilizing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge & the understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and or Kaizen.
- Troubleshooting and problem solving
- Working with a sense of urgency

**Education/Experience**
- High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience; strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and industrial skills with PLC programming experience.
- Completion of Ministry approved pre-Apprenticeship College course in either Industrial Mechanic (433A) or Industrial Electrician (442A) or in their 2-3 year of the Apprenticeship Program or equivalent 5+ years of work related experience

**Schedule**
- Minimum 8 hour shift
- Five days a week
- Weekend availability as needed
