We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including those of all religions, ethnicities, people of diverse sexual and gender identities and expressions, Black, Indigenous, Racialized People, and Persons with Disabilities.Job DescriptionWELLNESS COORDINATOR – Amica The Glebe (Full‑Time)Reporting to the General Manager, the Wellness Coordinator ensures effective use of Amica’s wellness assessment and documentation systems, assists the Director of Wellness and Neighborhood Coordinator in day‑to‑day operations, and acts as a lead in assigned neighborhoods, keeping in line with Amica standards and expectations.Key DutiesDevelop and facilitate programs to meet the needs of residents within the Assisted and Memory Care neighborhoods, ensuring legislative guidelines related to retirement and memory care are followed.Organize, facilitate and track in‑service and continuing education programs for Team Members.Manage Resident Care Partners to ensure resident care, monitoring and appropriate interaction.Foster and maintain strong relationships with residents and their families.Actively participate as a member of the multi‑disciplinary management team, including interacting with the Wellness team to complete assessments, updating resident assessment and service plans, communicating with other department heads, and promoting collaboration.Ensure integrity, accuracy and timely completion of resident records, reports and assessments.Retain and enhance Amica’s culture and values in every interaction.Provide clinical support to nursing operations in the absence of the Director of Wellness.Provide Care Stream and Yardi best practice training to all users, overseeing and assisting in the application of knowledge and evaluating outcomes.Assist with application of technical skills and conduct routine audits to ensure documentation aligns with company standards.Communicate gaps in documentation to teams and provide re‑education to Personal Support Workers and Wellness Nurses.Wellness AuditsAssist the Director of Wellness with preparation of departmental audits.Assist with analysis of audits and indicators, and provide recommendations for action plans.Assist with execution of action plans to address opportunities.EducationRegistered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) from a recognized program, with a current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario.ExperienceMinimum of 3 years’ experience as an RPN.KnowledgeSeniors’ care, aging, dementia and diversity.Health‑care and memory‑care issues.Legislative regulations and policies related to retirement care.Changes in mobility of seniors and mechanical lifting devices.Familiarity with all applicable health and safety legislation and knowledge of appropriate actions to ensure health and safety of staff.Competencies, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to influence, organize and schedule work functions and motivate a team.Strong oral, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people.Excellent leadership, organizational, team building and time management skills.Ability to resolve contentious or sensitive issues or situations.Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and electronic care systems.Experience with Quality Improvement Processes and tools (asset).Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information.Effective assessment, analytical and detail‑oriented skills.
