Base pay range CA$55,000.00/yr - CA$60,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from CT Bakery We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join our team in Ontario. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with all applicable Canadian federal and provincial food regulations, including those from the CFIA, Health Canada, and other regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food regulations, labelling requirements, and regulatory submissions, with specific experience in the bakery or food manufacturing sector. Key Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial food safety and regulatory requirements (CFIA, Health Canada, FDA where applicable). Review, approve, and maintain product labelling, packaging, and nutritional claims in accordance with the Canadian Food and Drug Regulations (FDR), Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), and applicable standards. Develop and maintain regulatory documentation, including ingredient statements, allergen declarations, and product specifications. Act as the regulatory lead during product development to ensure all new formulations meet Canadian regulatory and labelling requirements. Communicate with internal departments (R&D, QA, Marketing, Sales) to ensure regulatory alignment throughout the product lifecycle. Monitor regulatory changes in Canada and international markets and advise the business of any impacts. Prepare and support submissions and registrations required for product launches, certifications, or export documentation. Support responses to regulatory inspections, audits, and inquiries from the CFIA or third-party certification bodies. Maintain databases and regulatory files to ensure up-to-date and accessible compliance information. Assist with training internal staff on regulatory standards, changes, and best practices. Qualifications: Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, Nutrition, Microbiology, or a related field. Minimum 3–5 years of regulatory affairs experience in the food manufacturing industry, ideally in baked goods or similar categories. Strong knowledge of Canadian food regulations, including FDR, SFCR, CFIA guidelines, and bilingual labelling requirements (English/French). Experience with U.S. FDA food labelling is an asset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects and timelines. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in documentation. Proficient in Microsoft Office and regulatory database systems. Ability to interpret scientific data and technical documents. Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
