_We are seeking a dedicated Regulatory Affairs Specialist - _**Food Industry**_ _to join our team. The Regulatory Affairs Manager will play a crucial role in guiding regulation strategies. This position requires strong regulatory knowledge, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with regulatory authorities._
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide guidance to regulatory team with experience in Canadian and U.S food labelling.
- Ensure that the internal regulatory department database for new products, is kept updated with back up information for all formulations to ensure that all necessary paperwork is available for labeling, and registration.
- Responsible for the_**r**_egulatory compliance to overall plant and adherence to_**BRC’s Global Standard for Food Safety Certifications.**_
- Coordination with external parties (distributors, vendors, legal counsel, importers, authorities) to ensure that products are legally compliant
- Review, create and maintain regulatory information (product specifications, product labels, nutritional and allergen information ) related to ingredients, ingredient formulations and finished products for the Canadian and US market to assess and assure compliance with the corresponding regulatory agency’s policies, regulations, and standards (CFIA, Health Canada, FDA, USDA).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current food regulations, labelling requirements and relevant technical product and processing information in Canada and US. Assure appropriate interpretation of these regulations and communicate impact to the business.
- Provide resources to implement and maintain the BRC program including GMP and food safety training on scheduled basis
- Be a part of Internal Audit team and follow-up on root cause analysis and corrective action
- Help guide the product development process to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
- Delegate food safety compliance responsibility to the Plant Manager and Plant employees.
**Requirements**:
- University degree in Food Science / Nutrition / QA or related degree.
- 3+ years of experience in RA, QA or PD (coupled with RA) role within the food industry.
- Solid food regulatory understanding of both Canadian and US regulatory requirements according to CFIA, Health Canada, FDA, USDA.
- Strong system skills, including ability to work with MS Office and Genesis software.
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, problem solving, presentation and analytical skills.
- Must be organized, detail oriented and be able to prioritize projects and tasks.
- Proactive and performance driven, have a bias for action and be able to work under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Bilingual French and English, written and spoken would be an asset
Pay: $80,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
