OverviewAs part of our Finance team, the Accounts Receivable Specialist is a crucial component in the company's financial operations. You will manage and monitor the inflow of funds from customers or clients, and ensure the organization receives payments for cannabis product sales and that outstanding invoices are collected promptly.Essential ResponsibilitiesGenerate accurate and complete invoices for cannabis sales transactions to customers and ensure that invoices include all necessary information, such as billing details, payment terms, due dates, and itemized chargesReceive and process payments from customers in a timely mannerApply payments accurately to the corresponding customer accounts and invoices and respond to inquiries concerning invoice issues and creditsMonitor accounts receivable aging reports, identify and resolve discrepancies and initiate contact with customers to follow-up on overdue payments when neededProvide summary of customer transactions and balances when neededEnsure all invoices, receipts, and payment documentation are properly documented and archivedReconcile AR Aging reports against customer accounts, investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues and ensure accurate posting of payments and adjustments in a timely mannerProcess transactions in compliance with accounting principles and practicesAdministrationProvide support to the Accounts Payable team on an as needed basisAssist with month-end close tasks, such as working paper reconciliations and journal entry postingCollaborate with other departments, such as commercial, planning, and finance, to address customer-related issues and improve the overall customer experienceHelp review the creditworthiness of new customers by conducting credit checks and reviewing credit applicationsUpdate credit limits and terms for customers based on their financial stability and payment history and regularly review and update credit limits for existing customers as neededPrepare and maintain accurate records, reports, schedules and documentation related to AR activities while ensuring accurate month-end closeProcess transactions in compliance with accounting principles and practicesEducationBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldExperience3+ years of AP, AR or Accounting experience is preferredRobust understanding of the AP, AR and PO processing cycle requiredProven experience in accounts receivable or related financial rolesStrong understanding of accounting principles and practicesERP/Accounting system experience not required but preferredProficiency in accounting software and Microsoft ExcelKnowledge & SkillsDemonstrated ability to effectively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of employees, customers and vendorsDetail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamKnowledge of collection laws and regulationsMust have the ability to maintain and pass an RCMP criminal record check and obtain a security clearancePhysical RequirementsWork on siteAbility to work at a desk in a seated position or standing if necessarySeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionAccounting/Auditing and FinanceIndustriesManufacturing #J-18808-Ljbffr
