OverviewCommunications and Resource Development Coordinator - Bilingual is a 12-month renewable contract role at Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre (WOCRC). The position leads communications and resource development initiatives across the organization to enhance visibility, stakeholder engagement, and alignment with the organization\'s strategic plan.Base pay range$65,530.00/yr - $73,797.00/yrResponsibilitiesDevelop an annual communications plan to improve the center’s visibility in the community.Lead engagement in external events in public relations and promote awareness of WOCRC programs and services.Develop, write, proofread and/or edit a variety of media content.Lead the development of internal communications strategies, key messages and speaking points for Management, and may act as a designate, speaking on behalf of the Employer.Strategically advise management in a confidential capacity about communications relating to labour relations.Develop and execute fundraising strategies to meet revenue targets and organizational goals with support from management and the Board fundraising committee.Lead internal fundraising project working groups including planning, organizing, and executing fundraising events and activities on behalf of the employer.Write compelling grant proposals, sponsorship packages, and fundraising appeals.Research and identify potential funding sources, grants, and sponsorship opportunities.QualificationsBachelor’s degree from a recognized university in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and relevant work experience.2-4 years of professional experience with organizational communications.1-2 years of professional experience coordinating and leading collaborative working groups; coordinating events; communications; fundraising and donor stewardship; as well as working with volunteers.Experience and a professional focus in both official languages with writing, public relations; developing online and print corporate communications.Experience liaising with community groups and associations (preferred).Experience and interest in working with marginalized and diverse clientele (low-income, high-needs, newcomer, multicultural communities).Experience in a non-profit, community-based organization (preferred).Experience developing communications within a unionized environment (preferred).Knowledge of grant and proposal writing as part of fundraising efforts.Knowledge and understanding of community resources and community-based health care (preferred).Ability to communicate fluently in English, both spoken and written.Ability to communicate fluently in French, both spoken and written.Fluency in another language relevant to the client population is an asset.Availability to work evenings and weekends if required.Work Environment and Additional InformationThe WOCRC values diversity and provides accommodations for employees with disabilities.
