The team engages across the practice with close partnership to Discipline Leaders, the Stantec-wide Innovation Office, Digital Center of Excellence and IT. This role accelerates towards a brighter future by guiding digital transformation and the integration of digital technologies to improve efficiency and client delivery.This position can be located in any Stantec office in Canada or the US.Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial Acumen: Assess technical, operational, and economic factors to identify constraints or risks related to the proposal, development, and implementation of digital tools and technologies.Financial stewardship: Assess the economic impact of digital initiatives, develop business cases, budgeting, cost recovery models, and performance tracking to ensure ROI and measurable benefits.Performance monitoring: Continuously evaluate the performance of digital initiatives and adjust strategies to optimize results and demonstrate value.Leadership, Facilitation and Collaboration: Build relationships with internal stakeholders (including other BOU Digital Practice Leaders) and external partners; facilitate cross-functional collaboration and align technology focus, standards, and security requirements; contribute to organizational advancement through corporate initiatives.Digital Strategy: Develop a robust digital strategy for the Business Operating Unit (BOU) aligned with organizational goals; utilize advanced data analytics to inform decisions, optimize processes, and drive innovation.Governance and Security: Maintain digital governance, security, and privacy standards; establish lifecycle frameworks for digital transformation initiatives; implement controls to ensure project delivery, risk management, and compliance.Change Management: Set standards for Digital Products/Assets/Solutions; maintain an inventory and communicate updates across the BOU and Stantec.Organizational Change: Lead change to embed digital capabilities, including training and development to upskill employees and foster digital fluency and agility.Market Insight: Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities in the digital landscape; analyze competitors to inform digital initiatives and maintain a competitive edge.Strategy Adaptation: Regularly assess and adjust strategy to stay relevant in a rapidly changing digital environment.Digital Background in AEC: Experience in working with the business to identify and set standards within the AEC industry.Customer Engagement: Leverage digital tools to improve client engagement and satisfaction across digital touchpoints.Feasibility Studies: Undertake feasibility studies to determine practicality and potential success of digital initiatives.Core Buildings Leadership ResponsibilitiesEnhance our Practice: Collaborate with corporate initiatives, other BOUs, and the Innovation Office.Leadership Team Participation: Collaborate with various leaders to improve innovation strategies and tools for major pursuits.Employer Brand: Position Stantec Buildings as a preferred employer for staff recruitment and retention.Inclusion and People Leadership: Promote inclusive practices, lead, mentor, and develop talent within the digital practice services and Building’s practice.Resource Management and Development: Support career development, engagement, succession planning, coaching, mentoring, and leadership development across the practice.Talent Development: Attract talent and develop technical experts across digital practice services.Team Performance: Inspire and hold the team accountable for innovative and efficient processes and solutions.Emerging Leaders: Identify and support emerging leaders in Business Solution or relevant tech roles for growth.Culture and Safety: Contribute to Stantec’s Safer Together culture and prioritise health and safety.Project Focus: Collaborate with Sector Leaders and regional leaders to leverage digital expertise to win and deliver key projects.Revenue and Utilization: Positively impact revenue and utilization through digital transformation initiatives; improve tools and workflows.Process Improvement: Work with teams to create and enforce innovative tools and workflows that increase efficiency and quality.Major Projects Support: Collaborate with Major Projects teams on PIM aspects and risk mitigation strategies.Financial Management: Assist with budgeting and annual Digital Practice budget allocation and reviews.Strategic Planning: Contribute to the annual business plan and budget for Digital Practice/Innovation with clear priorities.Outreach: Stay informed of market technology updates through involvement in the Digital/BIM/CAD community.Business Development and Marketing: Support presentations, visualizations, interviews, and industry presence.Thought Leadership: Steward internal and external thought leadership to support sectors and clients and enhance Stantec’s position as an industry changemaker.Your Capabilities and CredentialsDemonstrated understanding of AEC digital technologies (cloud, data analytics, AI, cybersecurity) and ability to align digital initiatives with long-term BOU goals and industry trends.Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and change-management skills with a track record in digital strategy development and implementation.Budgeting, resource management, governance, cybersecurity, and compliance expertise; ability to evaluate market trends and competitor strategies to drive value and growth.Exceptional project management, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to prioritize multiple priorities within a Digital Practice team.Interpersonal skills with ability to work across all organizational levels and understand IT security requirements within Stantec.Forward-thinking, hands-on experience with machine learning and AI strategies for the BOU to future-proof the business.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in a relevant area.12+ years of professional experience; Final compensation is based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
