Come work as a Hospitalist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) provides a full range of general and many specialized acute care services including emergency and critical care, general medicine, general surgery, maternity, pediatrics, neurology, neurosurgery, cardiology, orthopedics, psychiatry, palliative care, chemotherapy, diagnostics, nuclear medicine, and rehabilitative services. A recognized trauma centre, LGH has 268 inpatient beds, eight operating rooms, and a variety of diagnostic services and equipment, and serves a large population in rural and urban settings including the North Shore, Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton and Mount Currie, the Sunshine Coast and Powell River.Lions Gate Hospital is currently seeking qualified Locum Hospitalists to provide MRP medical services to acute care medical patients, geriatrics, and MRP care for neurological, neurosurgical and orthopedic patient populations, with consultant support. The successful applicants will become a member of the Division of Hospitalists within the Department of Medicine at Lions Gate Hospital and will be required to participate in an on-call rotation, which is approximately once per week. p>The applicant must have substantial Hospitalist experience, with expertise caring for a diverse patient population in a busy community hospital. Quality improvement is a focus, as well as system improvements, teaching, infection control and antibiotic stewardship. li>Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections.
