Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) provides a full range of general and many specialized acute care services including emergency and critical care, general medicine, general surgery, maternity, pediatrics, neurology, neurosurgery, cardiology, orthopedics, psychiatry, palliative care, chemotherapy, diagnostics, nuclear medicine, and rehabilitative services. A recognized trauma centre, LGH has 268 inpatient beds, eight operating rooms, and a variety of diagnostic services and equipment, and serves a large population in rural and urban settings.

Lions Gate Hospital is currently seeking qualified Locum Hospitalists to provide MRP medical services to acute care medical patients, geriatrics, and MRP care for neurological, neurosurgical and orthopedic patient populations, with consultant support. The successful applicants will become a member of the Division of Hospitalists within the Department of Medicine at Lions Gate Hospital and will be required to participate in an on-call rotation, approximately once per week. p>

The applicant must have substantial Hospitalist experience, with expertise caring for a diverse patient population in a busy community hospital. Quality improvement is a focus, as well as system improvements, teaching, infection control and antibiotic stewardship. p>Qualifications

Education, Licensing, & Experience:

  1. Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) - Mandatory
  2. Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) – Emergency Medicine – Mandatory
  3. Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) – Eligible
