Come work as a Child Psychiatrist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a child psychiatrist at the Alan Cashmore Centre (ACC) to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for infants and children 0 to 5 years of age living in Vancouver who have moderate to severe mental health concerns. Family and parent involvement is an essential aspect of the care.In addition to child psychiatrists, the ACC team includes child and family therapists, childcare counsellors, and a speech and language pathologist. The psychiatrists carry their own therapeutic caseload and provide parent-child (family) therapy, case management tasks, maintain client notes in a database, and provide psychiatric assessment and consultation for diagnostic clarification and medication management. p>The child psychiatrists also participate in the therapeutic preschool program where they provide psychiatric assessments, observations, and follow-up to children in the group.ACC child psychiatrists should have experience working with diverse populations, with families that have experienced trauma, and with parents who have their own mental health needs.
