The Department of Mathematics invites applications for a full-time probationary (tenure-track) position at the Assistant Professor level, commencing 1 July 2025, or on a date mutually agreed upon. The Department seeks an emerging scholar with a commitment to excellence in research and teaching. Preference will be given to those applicants whose research plans may meaningfully interact with Quantum Science. D. and preferably post-doctoral experience or other distinguishing attributes in Mathematics or a related field. The successful candidate will have a track record of high-quality scholarly research leading to peer-assessed publications; will either have, or demonstrate the potential to establish and sustain, an independent, innovative, scholarly, externally fundable research program; will have demonstrated strength in or strong potential for outstanding teaching contributions; p>

  1. Research with the expectation of establishing and maintaining an externally funded research program
  2. Undergraduate teaching
  3. Graduate teaching and supervision
  4. Service-related activities

The Department currently has 23 full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty members, and 8 Instructors, and offers a full range of both undergraduate and graduate programs in mathematics and its applications. The Department is supported by strong research links with other University of Manitoba departments including the Departments of Biological Sciences, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physics and Astronomy, and Statistics. We are a member of the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS) and an affiliate member of the Fields Institute. ca/mathematics.
