UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA - The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Faculty of Engineering invites applications for one replacement professor faculty position in the areas of Computer Science and Software Engineering, with a special focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Title of the position: Replacement professor at the assistant professor level

Duties: The successful candidate is expected to teach courses in Computer Science and Software Engineering, primarily at the undergraduate levels. The successful candidate will be expected to teach more than the normal course load. 

The School offers a full slate of degrees at the Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral levels in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering and Computer Science. The Ottawa-National Capital region offers a remarkable variety of cultural and recreational opportunities.

Term: Two years

Wage: Assistant professor salary scale commensurate at $94,588.

Benefits package: The University of Ottawa provides a complete compensation package which includes long term disability, basic group life insurance, supplementary health insurance, University of Ottawa Pension Plan and optional life insurance.

Skills requirements:

Education: Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related area. Work experience: Successful candidates must have excellent academic credentials and the ability to teach effectively in both English and French and may be expected to teach more than the normal course load consisting of undergraduate courses. The successful applicant must be a licensed member of a provincial engineering association or must be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.

The expected starting date for the position is September 1, 2024, subject to budget approval.
