Senior Consultant, OpenShift

Senior Consultant, OpenShift - FSI Red Hat FSI Consulting team is looking for a Senior Consultant with a strong background in containerization and cloud-native technologies to join us remotely in the U.S or Canada. In this role, you will be a hands‑on subject‑matter expert, specializing in the design and implementation of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. You'll work directly with our customers to accelerate their application modernization and DevOps journeys, acting as a trusted advisor and enabling them through practical, hands‑on guidance. What You Will Do Serve as the key hands‑on implementer for Red Hat OpenShift projects, responsible for executing technical tasks and achieving milestones defined by the project architect in collaboration with the manager. Collaborate directly with customer project teams to automate the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications. Serve as a technical mentor, providing hands‑on training and sharing best practices for building and operating a robust container platform. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges related to the platform, networking, storage, and application integration. Contribute to project documentation, including deployment guides, automation runbooks, and architectural diagrams. Guide customers in integrating OpenShift with their existing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes. Travel up to 25 % of the time. What You Will Bring 5+ years in a hands‑on technology role such as consulting, site reliability engineering (SRE), or platform operations. 3+ years of direct hands‑on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform or upstream Kubernetes in enterprise environments. Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and troubleshooting. Proven experience with automation tools such as Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform, or Helm. Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and practical experience with tools like Jenkins, Tekton, or ArgoCD. Experience with at least one major public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Nice to Have Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or Application Development, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA). Experience with software‑defined networking (SDN), particularly OVN‑Kubernetes, and enterprise networking concepts such as VLANs, load balancers, and firewalls. Familiarity with container‑native storage technologies like Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation, Ceph, or Portworx. Experience with container security best practices and tools such as Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security for Kubernetes (ACS) or other static and runtime scanners. Knowledge of observability tools, including Prometheus, Grafana, and log aggregation solutions such as the EFK/ELK stack. Experience deploying and managing OpenShift on various infrastructures, including bare metal, VMware vSphere, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, or public clouds. Familiarity with OpenShift Virtualization and managing virtual machines alongside containers. Experience working in Financial Services. What Your First Year Will Look Like Within 2 months: Complete an intensive, customized training program and be ready to join a project team, having mastered Red Hat's OpenShift best practices and consulting methodologies. Within 6 months: Be a key technical contributor on customer projects, responsible for implementing assigned tasks from the project backlog and delivering successful automation solutions with the Red Hat portfolio. Within 12 months: Demonstrate technical leadership, successfully implementing complex, enterprise‑grade OpenShift solutions and sharing expertise with internal and external communities of practice. Salary Range The salary range for this position is $116,270.00 – $191,840.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications. Pay Transparency Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote‑US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
