Join to apply for the Emergency Medicine role at Health Match BC Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) and Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH) are seeking full‑time Emergency Physicians to join our physician group (Columbia Emergency Physicians Association). The successful applicants will have CCFP (EM) or FRCPC (EM) certification and will be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. PALS or APLS certification within five years is also required for work within the region. ABEM certification is also eligible. Previous experience in a high‑volume, high‑acuity Emergency Department is preferable, as is experience with trauma and pediatric populations. ATLS or other trauma‑based certification (e.g. STRUC) is highly recommended. Qualifications and Interests Ceritification: CCFP (EM) or FRCPC (EM); ABEM acceptable Licensure: Eligible for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia PALS / APLS within five years Trauma and pediatric experience preferred ATLS/STRUC or equivalent trauma certification highly recommended Interest or experience in research, quality improvement, physician leadership, education, simulation, or geriatric emergency medicine is a priority Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (EDI) principles in hiring and practice Role Summary As a full‑time Emergency Physician (~13 shifts per month), you will provide high‑quality patient care at either RCH or ERH, collaborate with a large, multidisciplinary team of approximately 70 physicians, and contribute to the educational mission of our teaching hospitals. You will be expected to attain a faculty appointment in the Department of Emergency Medicine and teach residents and UBC medical students on shift. Opportunities exist for further involvement in education for both undergraduate and postgraduate medicine at UBC. Compensation and Benefits Compensation for a full‑time Emergency Physician is approximately $400,000 + per year. Our scheduling is flexible, accommodates many different physician preferences, and includes maternity/paternity leave policies, vacation and senior‑member plans, and optional sabbaticals. Locum/temporary work opportunities are also available. Facilities Royal Columbian Hospital – a tertiary provincial referral hospital located in New Westminster, BC. It hosts 24/7 emergency services with approximately 80,000 visits annually and is the only level‑1 accredited trauma centre in Fraser Health. The new state‑of‑the‑art Emergency Department will contain 75 beds and a dedicated procedure room. Eagle Ridge Hospital – a community hospital located in Port Moody, BC. The Emergency Department has recently undergone extensive expansion and sees over 50,000 visits annually, including approximately 15% pediatric presentations.
