Senior Structural Engineer

The Senior Structural Engineer at Concast Pipe leads and manages structural engineering projects from conception through completion, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry standards. This role focuses on designing, testing, and verifying concrete and steel pipe systems for durability, efficiency, and safety. Primary Responsibilities Design underground concrete structures such as valve chambers, circular manholes, water retention tanks, box culverts and three‑sided bridge structures. Apply knowledge of earth loads, live loads, and heavy civil construction industry requirements. Plan and supervise handling and lifting of concrete structures. Represent Concast on technical committees and industry events (OCPA/CCPPA, ACPA, CPCI, CSA, etc.). Coordinate with engineers, consulting firms, customers, and public‑sector officials. Required Skills and Attributes Minimum 10 years’ experience designing reinforced concrete structures. 10 years’ experience in the precast industry with multidisciplinary engineering exposure. Effective technical communication skills. Education Requirements & Qualifications Master’s Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering. Valid professional engineering designation in good standing; PEO (Professional Engineers Ontario). Additional Requirements Open‑office, high‑traffic environment with necessary facilities. Workstation equipped with desk, chair, filing cabinet, mid‑height partitions, integrated office phone, and computer. Normal office hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break. Overtime may be required during busy season. Physical activities include prolonged sitting, periodic filing, inter‑office walking, occasional site visits and all‑weather outdoor activities.
