The Senior Structural Engineer at Concast Pipe plays a pivotal role in leading and managing structural engineering projects from conception through completion, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry standards. This position requires expertise in the design, analysis, and testing of concrete and steel pipe systems, focusing on durability, efficiency, and safety. The priority for this role is to deliver high-quality structural designs that support Concast's strategic objectives, contributing to the company's growth and maintaining its reputation for excellence in the industry.

Primary Responsibilities:


• Designing specifically underground concrete structures such as valve chambers, circular manholes, water retention tanks, box culverts and three-sided bridge structures.


• Must be familiar with earth loads, live loads, and general heavy civil construction industry.


• Must be familiar with handling and lifting such concrete structures.


• Represent Concast externally in all technical platforms by participating in technical committee and industry events such as: OCPA/CCPPA, ACPA, CPCI, CSA, etc.


• Liaise with Engineers and technical personnel from consulting Engineering firms, customers, and public sector officials.

Required Skills and Attributes:


• Minimum of 10 years' experience in designing reinforced concrete structures.


• 10 years' experience in the precast industry combined with multi-disciplinary engineering


• Effective technical communication skills

• Master's Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering


• A valid designated Engineering professional in good standing; PEO (Professional Engineers Ontario)

Working Environment:


• Open office high traffic environment with appropriate facilities


• Workstations are equipped with a desk, chair, filing cabinet, mid height partitions, integrated office phone, and computer.


• Normal office hours of operation 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break


• Overtime may be required during busy season


• Physical activities will consist of prolonged periods of sitting, periodic filing, inter-office walking, occasional site visits – manufacturing and all-weather outdoor activities, and meeting room attendance.


• Will be working with minimal supervision.


• This position reports to the Director of Engineering & Sales.\
