Responsibilities include handling payroll tasks, addressing inquiries, and optimizing processes while supporting the Finance team. This is an indefinite contract role with a salary range of CAD $45,000-47,000 per year.Role And ResponsibilitiesProcess end to end bi-weekly, hourly, and salaried payrolls using Workday in accordance with current federal and provincial regulations and best practices at a publicly traded companyWithin the Workday payroll module, ensure accurate processing of new hires, terminations, ROEs, changes to pay and any other ad hoc requestsProvide Workday support within payroll teamAddress employee inquiries relating to their payroll profile enrollment and pay breakdownTrack paid time off entitlements in WorkdayReconciles payroll accounts monthly in accordance with financial close schedulePrepare journal entries in a timely manner after each pay cycleProcess reconciliation of benefit invoices to payroll deductions and submit for paymentProvide timely response to inquiries from HR, Finance, managers, employees, government, and other third-party agenciesBuild and utilize reporting and other features in Workday in the preparation and review of all year-end T4s across multiple provincesAct as liaison for internal and external audit requests and requests for financial information that pertain to payrollContinually optimize payroll processes across the businessWillingness to assist and support the Finance team with other assigned finance related dutiesQualifications, Experience And Education RequirementsMinimum of 3+ years' experience in a payroll related roleStrong knowledge of Workday payroll and Workday HRIS preferred but not requiredProficient in Microsoft Office suite applications; specifically, ExcelStrong knowledge of payroll practicesMulti-provincial (Ontario, Alberta, BC, NS and Quebec) payroll experience is a mustKnowledge of Employment Standards Act in each province where we have employeesAbility to handle working in a multi-site environment with multiple tasks simultaneously in order to meet deadlines (must be able to adjust schedule and workload to meet all obligations (i.e. month-end, quarter-end, year-end)Tilray welcomes applications from all qualified individuals and is committed to employment equity and diversity in the workplace.Accommodations are available for applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment process.
