Vancouver, Canada Versaterm Full time

Product Manager - Digital Evidence Management The Company Versaterm is a global public safety solutions company helping agencies transform how they serve their communities. Since 1977, we’ve been building an ecosystem of intuitive tools designed for public safety agencies, forensic labs, court systems, schools and other institutions. Through purposeful integrations and a selective growth strategy, we focus on improving workflows to help our customers achieve more efficient operations, better service and more just outcomes. Our teams are driven by innovation, expertise and an unwavering commitment to customer success. As we continue to grow and expand our ecosystem, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to solutions that enhance community safety and transform the future of public safety technology. If you’re passionate about making a meaningful difference, we’d love to hear from you. The Role We are seeking a Product Manager who can help shape mission‑critical systems that serve as the backbone for Police, Fire, and EMS. Our Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS) securely stores, organizes, and manages digital evidence, such as video, audio, and images, collected from various sources from body‑worn cameras to drones, to support investigations and public safety operations. You will guide the execution of products, working closely with customers, marketing, designers, and engineers to deliver solutions that simplify complex workflows, support critical decision‑making, and enhance community safety. This position is both strategic and hands‑on — balancing long‑term product direction with day‑to‑day prioritization to ensure our products continue to lead the industry. What You Do Contribute to delivering the product vision by executing on strategic priorities and ensuring alignment with company goals and customer needs. Clearly articulate the business case and customer value for each initiative or feature so that the team understands the purpose and expected impact. Serve as the recognized subject matter expert on the product, the market, technology trends, and the competitive landscape, regularly representing both the voice of the customer and business needs in senior‑level discussions. Defining the Roadmap Execute the product strategy through actionable plans, determining what to build and when to release it. Build and maintain both a detailed development roadmap for internal teams and a high‑level roadmap for executives and customers. Gather input from customers, internal stakeholders, market research, and industry insights to shape the roadmap and product vision. Partner with engineering and cross‑functional teams to ensure delivery of products that align with the vision, meet market needs, and are released with consistently high quality. Contribute to pricing strategies, defining core product positioning and messaging, and to product marketing and go‑to‑market launch plans. Evaluating and Prioritizing Features Collect, develop, and curate ideas from customers, sales, and internal stakeholders, ensuring the most valuable and impactful are promoted to the backlog. Prioritize features by balancing user value, development effort, time to market, and competitive differentiation, while keeping strategic goals and initiatives at the center. Track and evaluate product performance, including sales, feature adoption, support tickets, and user satisfaction, and adjust priorities accordingly. Run trials, pilots, and MVPs to validate assumptions and refine the product before broader launches. Perform ongoing market and competitor research to ensure the product remains differentiated and competitive. Stakeholders and Key Work Partners Collaborate internally with engineering, sales, marketing, partner success, support, implementation, finance, legal, and the leadership team to drive the product forward. Engage externally with customers, end‑users, and partners to gather feedback, build relationships, deliver demos, and ensure the product meets real‑world needs. Promote the product internally and externally through training, sales enablement, webinars, newsletters, and direct customer interactions. Act as a product evangelist and build trust as a leader across the business, ensuring alignment and enthusiasm for the product vision. What You Bring Required Qualifications Degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CSPO, SAFe PO) are a plus. A minimum of 3 years of product management experience within a software organization. Strong understanding of Agile frameworks, particularly Scrum or Kanban. Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, or similar. Highly effective cross‑functional team management. Exceptional writing and editing skills combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Asset Qualifications Experience with “Aha” Product Management software Familiarity with software engineering concepts such as APIs, databases, and cloud platforms. Demonstrated ability to leverage AI technologies to enhance product capabilities or operational efficiency. Experience with building software for Public Safety.
