**Position Summary**:
- Our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software Accuro®EMR has the largest adoption in Canada and serves thousands of providers and millions of patients. Our patient platform (Medeo & Medeo+) leverages that market penetration and connects patients to their healthcare providers. Our supporting products round out a robust offering, connecting healthcare providers to their patients, their data and each other. As we continue to deliver desired outcomes between our products and other healthcare organizations in the industry, we are looking for a passionate product manager who is motivated to be an integral driver of innovation in healthcare technologies in Canada.
- With this in mind, we empower our product teams to solve hard problems - customer problems and business problems - in ways that our customers love yet work for our business. Our product teams are cross-functional and durable, comprised of a product manager, development manager, product designer, engineers and QA, focusing on one key objective that aligns with our domain vision.
- We are staffing our product teams with the skills necessary to come up with effective solutions that are valuable (our customers choose to buy or use), viable (the solution works within the many constraints of the business), usable (the user can figure out how to use) and feasible (our engineers have the skills and technology to implement).**Competencies Critical for Success**:
- User and Customer Knowledge: become an acknowledged expert on your target users/customers and how the product is actually used by users.
- Data Knowledge: become an acknowledged expert in your product domain and relevant data discovery tools.
- Industry and Domain Knowledge: become an acknowledged expert in understanding the competitive landscape and relevant industry trends.
- Position Knowledge: become a master in your role as a product manager.
- People Knowledge: become a master in influencing without authority.
**Primary Responsibilities**:
- While the product designer is accountable for ensuring the solution is usable, and the engineers are accountable for ensuring the solution is feasible, the product manager is accountable for ensuring the solution is both valuable and viable.- This means that the product manager must contribute to their product team solid knowledge of the various constraints of the business - constraints from marketing, sales, service, finance, legal, and privacy are typical examples. The product manager must also contribute to the product team a deep knowledge of our users and customers, and the data about how our customers engage with our products. Finally, the product manager is expected to track industry trends and the competitive landscape as they pertain to their product.- While each member of the product team may be accountable for a specific risk, we look for product managers that understand that consistent innovation is the result of each member of the product team contributing their passion and their ideas. The product manager must collaborate closely with their product designer and engineers to discover effective solutions, and then work together to deliver those solutions to market.- While we empower our product teams to figure out the best solutions to the problems that need to be solved, we also hold those teams accountable to the results. Shipping is necessary, but not sufficient. We look for product managers that are not afraid of signing up for results, even when this means they have to work through others to achieve the necessary results.- We also look for product managers that embrace the following areas focusing on their team’s key objective. This includes but is not limited to:
- Own product vision, strategy, and roadmap for your domain
- Drive end-to-end new product development leveraging our Phase Gate framework
- Gather requirements and acceptance criteria from users and stakeholders
- Express user and stakeholder requirements as User Stories in an ordered Product Backlog
- Turn the Product Backlog into clear, focused sprint goals ahead of each new sprint
- Support and focus the development team to deliver the sprint goal each sprint
- Develop associated Market Needs Documents, Business Cases, and Product Launch Plans
- Communicate progress and challenges back out to stakeholders as required
- Determine appropriate success metrics to systematically measure new product impact and outcomes
- Lead competitive analysis and research for your domain
- Deliver product demonstrations, lead webinars, and drive thought leadership
- This job, as with the other roles on the product team, is an individual contributor role. You will need to be able to influence your teammates, as well as colleagues, stakeholders, and key executives, through your use of data and logic.**Additional**
