Overview Fantastic opportunity for a general adult Psychiatrist to join the expanding Psychiatry department at Kelowna General Hospital. Deliver excellence in care while working within a strong culture of teamwork. The role includes service to a 30‑bed inpatient unit, a 6‑bed Adult Mental Health Intensive Care Unit, consults to medical/surgical units and the emergency department, and the maintenance of a community‑based practice. Clinic Details — Kelowna General Hospital Adult and pediatric health centre with 400 beds and over 84,000 annual ED visits. Adjacent Interior Heart & Surgical Centre (IHSC) – BC’s only cardiac critical‑care centre outside Victoria. Modern inpatient units, dedicated psychiatry units for youth and adults, a maternity ward and an academic campus affiliated with UBC. Teaching centre for the Southern Medical Program, with Royal College Emergency Medicine & Family Physician training. Practice Details Patient assessment and treatment of serious and persistent mental illness. Collaboration with clinicians and managers to develop appropriate programs, policies and procedures. Consults to medical/surgical units, the emergency department and community practice. Opportunities in the Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) clinic, telepsychiatry and community outreach. Teaching opportunities to medical students and residents. Leadership development through Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Program. Compensation Type: Fee‑for‑Service Estimated Remuneration: $250,000 – $400,000 Overhead: MOCAP level 2 Physician Overhead (private practice only) Benefits and Incentives Relocation Funding: $9,000 – $15,000 (1.0 FTE positions; based on move location) Combined Fee for Service plus Sessions payment structure.
