Responsibilities:
  • Manage real estate transactions from start to finish, including drafting documents and correspondence with other solicitors, clients, and lenders.
  • Organize and manage mortgage transactions, including drafting mortgage documents and correspondence with solicitors for lenders and borrowers.
  • Place title insurance and ensure timely completion of transactions.
  • Read and interpret title searches, determine when off-title searches are required, and take necessary actions.
  • Complete transaction closings, including coordinating receipt of closing documents and funds, registration of documents, and reporting.
  • Prepare written correspondence based on instructions and liaise with lawyers, financial institutions, brokers, lenders, government, and others.
  • Prepare reporting letters and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate effectively with clients through various channels.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including faxing, photocopying, scanning, and data entry.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Real Estate Law.
  • A Legal Assistant or Law Clerk diploma/certificate.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Teraview, Conveyancer, PC LAW, and other relevant software systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, with excellent keyboarding and grammar skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with additional languages an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and high standard of integrity, ethics, judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.

Salary will be commensurate with experience, and free on-site parking is available.
