The Opportunity: IT Manager – Digital Signage

In this pivotal role, you'll oversee our technology infrastructure, support client needs, and ensure the seamless operation of digital signage systems that help top-tier brands shine across North America.

What You'll DoIT Infrastructure Management

• Network & Server Management: Oversee the network infrastructure to ensure digital signage system performance, scalability, and reliable connectivity between screens, media players, and servers.
• Data Center Operations: Manage on-premise or cloud-based data centers, ensuring secure and efficient content storage and distribution.
• System Upgrades & Patches: Regularly evaluate and update operating systems, network devices, and software applications for optimal performance and security.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement backup solutions and data recovery procedures for digital signage systems.

Digital Signage Systems Management

• Hardware & Software Integration: Lead the integration of displays, media players, controllers, and software (CMS, scheduling tools) into cohesive digital signage solutions.
• Monitoring & Maintenance: Proactively monitor displays, media players, and networks to ensure continuous uptime. Resolve issues swiftly through regular system health checks.
• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with hardware, software, and network service suppliers, negotiating contracts and maintaining service level agreements (SLAs).

Project Management and Execution

• Project Planning & Execution: Oversee all IT-related aspects of digital signage projects, from system design to deployment, ensuring solutions meet client requirements and quality standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, content creators, creative teams, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within budget, and aligned with business goals.
• Implementation of New Technologies: Research and integrate emerging technologies (AI, IoT, advanced interactivity) to keep Pattison ID at the cutting edge of digital signage.

Security and Compliance

• Cybersecurity Management: Implement firewalls, encryption, and secure access protocols to safeguard digital signage networks, devices, and content.
• Access Control & Permissions: Define and enforce user roles, permissions, and best practices for digital signage systems.
• Compliance Adherence: Ensure systems comply with industry standards and legal requirements (e.g., GDPR, accessibility standards).

Team Leadership and Support

• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of IT professionals, assigning tasks, setting performance objectives, and providing development opportunities.
• Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Oversee hardware, software, and network issue resolution. Serve as an escalation point for complex technical challenges.
• End-User Support: Provide internal teams (marketing, sales, creative) with the knowledge and tools needed to run effective digital signage campaigns.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement

• Client Solutions & Consultation: Collaborate with clients to understand their digital signage needs and tailor technical solutions that exceed expectations.
• Client Training: Offer training on system operation, content upload, scheduling, and basic troubleshooting.
• Client Issue Resolution: Act as the primary contact for escalated technical issues, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining strong client relationships.

Budgeting and Financial Management

• Budget Management: Develop and manage the IT department's budget, ensuring controlled expenditures on hardware, software, and support services.
• Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining top-tier service quality.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare reports on IT-related spending with recommendations for future technology investments.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

• System Performance Analytics: Track KPIs (uptime, load times, rendering speeds) and produce regular performance reports for senior management.
• Troubleshooting & Resolution: Implement escalation procedures for quick resolution of technical failures or performance issues.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives that enhance system efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

Research and Innovation

• Industry Trends & Technology Research: Stay current with developments in digital signage software, hardware, and industry best practices.
• Proof of Concept & Pilots: Lead testing of new technologies, working with internal teams and clients to validate concepts before broad implementation.

What You Bring to the Role

• Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (PMP, ITIL, CompTIA) preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in IT management with a focus on digital signage systems, network administration, and project management.
