Join to apply for the Director, Slate Strategy role at Scopely Scopely is looking for a Director of Slate Strategy to join the Slate Development Group. The position will be responsible for in-depth analyses of Casual genre games across platforms to provide clear market-based theses for investment and game development. The location is flexible, and some travel will be required. Slate Development Group owns Scopely’s editorial and content strategy, including the company’s greenlighting, Game Development Framework (GDF), studio strategy (organic and inorganic) and slate-wide budget and investment strategy. What You Will Do You will be the thought leader in forming the core forward‑looking hypotheses of the company slate and product strategy. You will set the priority and the tempo of the organization’s product strategy. This includes but is not limited to What the key market trends are telling us in terms of our slate & product strategy What the key success factors are to maximum chance for success How we build confidence in our hypothesis through innovative ways to get data You will be responsible for assessing some of our opportunistic acquisition and investment opportunities and act as the key voice of product strategy. Manage a pipeline of product strategy needs to make sure the development slate is on the cutting edge of design practice, surfacing the most impactful KPI‑lifting product insights from the market to the game teams. Ensure ruthless prioritization and alignment with business priorities, both urgent and strategic. Partner with Game Teams to make sure your team’s insights are driving maximum impact on the development and investment slate. What We’re Looking For A deep understanding and perspective on the gaming market and landscape, ideally working at the portfolio level, though not required. An analytical mind driven always to understand why successes happen and can consistently come up with new hypotheses and frameworks to capture success & failure patterns. A strong quantitative background and ability to do hands‑on work with data to generate key strategic hypotheses. Been part of successful game‑making teams as a leader and know how to create influence with creative leadership. A very strong set of communication skills, both in person and written. Oftentimes, you need to convince others of your point of view through influence and rallying cross‑functional teams to deliver results. You deeply understand free‑to‑play design, execution, and the rigors of live game operations. You know what it is to run a live game and know how to help teams make the hard prioritization decisions necessary to grow LTV without infinite resources. Infectious passion and love for games.
