Itinerant DECE LTO – 1.0 FTE Extended Day PM (7 hrs/day) Employer: Waterloo Region District School Board Job Summary Provide extended‑day childcare services as an itinerant DECE on a long‑term occasional assignment. The position requires a 7‑hour daily shift (including PD days) in elementary schools that participate in the WRDSB Extended Day Program. Key Responsibilities Work seven‑hour shifts every day, including paid professional development days. Collaborate with the WRDSB EasyConnect Operator to confirm the school and classroom location at least one hour before the shift starts. Document attendance, incidents, and any required health and safety information following board protocols. Comply with all health, safety, and record‑keeping requirements, including the mandatory Vulnerable Sector Check and annual offence declaration. Maintain a valid first aid and CPR certificate (Level C/AED) and renew as required. Qualifications & Conditions In good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators. Must possess Standard First Aid with CPR Level C/AED at the time of application. Will need to complete a Physical Demands Test; Human Resources will schedule the test upon successful application. Commitment to working in WRDSB elementary schools on the Extended Day Program. Eligibility for unpaid leave: up to three full unpaid days for DECE LTOs in assignments longer than 80 instructional days; up to one unpaid day for assignments between 30 and 80 instructional days. Must be added to the WRDSB Designated Early Childhood Educator Supply List upon appointment.
