Summary
Prostate Cancer Centre (PCC) is seeking a dynamic Events and Sponsorship Supervisor to join our team in Calgary. In this role, you will lead the planning and execution of fundraising events and manage corporate sponsorship programs to support PCC's mission in the fight against prostate cancer. The ideal candidate has a background in event planning or fundraising, strong project management skills, and a passion for community engagement.
Role Description:
As part of our Fund Development team, this role plays a key part in increasing revenue through ensuring the success of our fundraising events and sponsorship programs, helping us to provide life-saving services in Alberta. This is a full-time on-site role for an Events and Sponsorship Supervisor based in Calgary. The Events and Sponsorship Supervisor at the PCC is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing fundraising events, while developing and managing sponsorship initiatives to support PCC's mission. Qualifications
General:
- 5+ years of experience in event planning, fundraising, administration, or marketing.
- Proven ability to manage projects and events from start to finish, coordinating multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and steward donors, sponsors, and volunteers.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to cultivate positive relationships with diverse stakeholders, including corporate partners and community members.
- Demonstrated skill in developing sponsorship and securing sponsorship agreement to support event goals.
- Enthusiasm for PCC's mission and a passion for making a difference in men's health through community outreach and fundraising.
Technical:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for creating proposals, reports, and presentations.
- Experience using CRM or donor database software to track donor information, sponsorships, and event participation.
- Comfortable with technology and social media platforms for promoting events and engaging the community.
- Strong attention to detail for managing data, budgets, and ensuring compliance with fundraising regulations and reporting requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate and execute PCC's fundraising and awareness events from conception through completion, ensuring each event meets its fundraising goals and providing excellent experience for attendees.
- Develop and manage relationships with corporate sponsors and donors, including securing new sponsorship and maintaining ongoing partnerships for both internal and third-party events.
- Oversee all event logistics such as events calendar & database, venue booking, venue management, and on-site execution to ensure events run smoothly and professionally.
- Collaborate closely with the Fund Development Manager to align events and sponsorship strategies with overall fundraising goals and initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor the Events Coordinator, providing guidance, delegating tasks, and offering performance feedback.
- Ensure all events and fundraising activities comply with relevant charitable regulations and PCC's policies, upholding the highest standards.
- Manage the registration process for lottery licenses, ensuring compliance with AGLC guidelines and reporting requirements.
- Track event budgets, timelines, outcomes, providing regular reports on event performance and sponsorship ROI.
Working Conditions:
- Collaborative open-office setting within a passionate, mission-driven team.
- Able to work in a dynamic fluid environment and ability to stand for extended periods of time (i.e. setting up event materials and being on your feet during events).
- Travel to event venues and off-site meetings with sponsors or partners throughout the province will be required.
